Regent University Signs MoU with Selçuk University – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Regent University College of Science and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Selçuk University, Turkey to promote cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of faculty and student exchanges as well as programme partnerships.

The signing ceremony took place at the main campus of Selçuk University, in Konya, Turkey over the weekend.

Regent’s President, Rev. Prof. Larbi and the Rector of Selçuk University, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şahin, signed the MoU on behalf of the respective institutions.

Also representing Regent University College at the meeting were Professor Seth Ayettey, Director, Regent School of Medical and Allied Sciences, Dr. Stanley Moffatt, Vice President, Institutional Effectiveness and Dr. Alex Adom, Strategic Planning Coordinator.

Members of the management team of Selçuk University who attended the meeting were Prof. Dr. Abdullah Topçuoğlu, Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Okka, Prof. Dr. Hakkı Gökbel , and Prof. Dr. Bekir Karlik, a visiting professor at Regent and a retired Professor of Selçuk University.

“I believe that for a brighter future of universities, collaboration is a must, and based on this, cooperations can be worked out for further relations”, said, Prof. Dr. Sahin, Rector of Selçuk University. “There are lots of things we can learn from each other”, he added.

“The reception at Selçuk University was great. The professors we met in the Universities we visited showed great enthusiasm. The signing of the MoU between Regent and Selçuk promises a strong collaboration between both institutions”, said Prof. Larbi.

Selçuk is the second largest university in Turkey, with a student population of about 90,000. It is ranked among the top ten universities in Turkey.

The Regent delegation got the chance to tour the various science and engineering laboratories at Selçuk University’s campus. The delegation also visited Mevlana University, and Izmir University of Economics to hold talks for similar academic partnerships.
