Ghanaian Swimmer Ophelia Swayne has apologised over her comments that the Ghana Swimming association took bribes to deny her a place in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Earlier this week, Opehlia Swayne took to Twitter to state that Spain-based Kaya Forson has been given a place in Ghana’s swimming team for the Games because her father, Mr. Andrew Forson had paid bribes to the Association, She has however come out to apologise over the accusations via her twitter account.
Kaya is a good swimmer and it’s not her fault she got selected to represent. Again, I apologize for my accusations

The Ghana Swimming Association earlier announced that Abeiku Jackson and Kaya Forson had been selected for the Rio Olympic games.
Swimmer Kaya Forson’s, father Andrew Forson also in a Tweet refuted the claims by Ms. Ophelia Swayne.

Ghanaian swimmer Ophelia Swayne set Twitter ablaze when she posted on her timeline that she will not be making an appearance in Brazil to represent Ghana as she had been replaced by Kaya Forson.
She tweeted a screenshot of the news Kaya Forson will be taking her place with the caption:
“Guys don’t bother rooting for me, I’ll not be going for the Olympics”
