University of Ghana Management Failing To Renovate Hilla Limann Hall – JCR Prez – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Junior Common Room President of the Hilla Liman Hall at the University of Ghana Mr. Oswald Anang has lamented over the University’s recurrent failure to undertake renovation works on the hall.

In an exclusive interview with Univers news’, Mr. Anang said renovation works were supposed to be done during last year’s long vacation. However nothing was done. It was then postponed to the December vacation but again nothing was done as school authorities claimed the short vacation time would not permit for the project to be completed.

“They [previous JCR executives] don’t know what happened. They [previous JCR executives] were told it was coming off. All if a sudden they just got information that it wasn’t going to come off because the period was short and so it will be done this vacation. This long vacation!”he said.

According to the hall President,  the unfortunate trend has left the hall in a deplorable state and all efforts to get management to start renovation works this vacation have proved futile, with management of the hall giving one excuse after the other.

Mr. Oswald Anang also mentioned  that his administration is trying every means possible to  get the renovation work done.

He said a series of stakeholder meeting will be held to find a lasting solution to the matter.

He further said that he will follow up to the dean of Students Affairs at the University of Ghana, Dr. James Adomako to before his administration embarks on its next line of action regarding the situation.

“Whatever must make the renovations come off it has to come off! We are going to the Dean to see him and then the Pro VC to see the stance of the school on the renovation of Hilla Liman hall because we are hearing rumors that it may not come on”
