Investment of NDC in the youth strategic- DCE – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Mr Alidu Issifu Laa-Bandow, Zabzugu District Chief Executive, has noted that the plans and policies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are geared towards the strategic investment in the youth.

He said the type of future leaders Ghana needs should be those that would be both mentally and morally sound and ready to take the country to the next level that the citizens would be proud of.

Mr Laa-Bandow, who was speaking at an event to mark International Youth Day in Zabzugu in the Northern Region, said that is the very reason why the current NDC government is not leaving anything to chance when it comes to matters concerning the youth.

It was on the theme: “Investing In Youth Health For Poverty Eradication And Sustainable Livelihood.”

He said a lot of financial and other investments have been made in the youth so far and the government is still doing more in that regard just to build their capacity and make them self-dependent.

The DCE said all these interventions are aimed at preparing the youth for the challenges ahead as far as the developmental needs of the country is concern.

He said the youth need to be mentored, shaped and groomed to make them ready to assume leadership positions in various capacities in future.

Mr Laa-Bandow said this involves mental readiness, which could be achieved by knowledge acquisition through formal education.

He said education is the only sure way to eliminate poverty and to achieve development.
