Andre Ayew To Miss Crucial Qualifiers Against Uganda and Egypt – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Ghana and West Ham forward Andre Ayew is set to miss two crucial Russia 2018 qualifiers following a thigh muscle strain injury he suffered on his debut.

What was supposed to be a dream debut against Chelsea for the 20.5 million pound record signing quickly turned into a horror show after only 35 minutes.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic revealed that the damage to his quadriceps will likely require surgery and could possibly keep him out for the rest of the year.

The Black Stars will begin their qualifiers with a home game against Uganda on October 3rd and then will travel to Egypt to play the Pharoah’s on November 7 for the first leg of what is expected to be one of the biggest matches in the qualifying rounds.

Ghana made it to the Brazil 2014 World Cup after seeing off Egypt 7-3 on aggregate in a two leg playoff.

Having scored 12 goals in his debut season in the English Premiership, head coach of the Black Stars Avram Grant will be ruing his absence with all his top players either returning from injury or currently out of form.

According to player injury specialist website the Physio Room,Ayew will return to training on December 1,2016.
