The National Accreditation Board (NAB) has expressed concerns over admission advertisements by two unaccredited institutions enticing students to enroll into their programs.
A statement signed by the Executive Director of NAB, Kwame Dattey said, the two institutions, Alpha College of Technology and Rama University are operating in Accra and luring unsuspecting students to register and gain admission to the school.
The statement said, “The National Accreditation Board has noted with serious concern advertisements by “ALPHA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY” (operating from Accra Academy School Campus and Oyarifa) and “RAMA UNIVERSITY” supposedly operating from the Academic City College, Ring Road Central, Accra, enticing students to enroll into their tertiary education programmes.”
According to the board, the two institutions “have NOT BEEN ACCREDITED by the National Accreditation Board as required by the National Accreditation Board Act, 2007 (Act 744) and the Tertiary Institutions (Establishment and Accreditation) Regulations, 2010 (L.I 1984) to operate as tertiary education institutions.”
It therefore called on the general public, especially residents in Accra to desist from responding to the advertisements from the institutions by enrolling in the school or any of its programs.
