Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu has said he is not perturbed to account for his stewardship in his first 100 days in office as Chief Executive Officer of the University of Ghana.
According to him every physical development we see at the University there is a lot of underground works that have gone into it.
He has however said there is a new wind blowing at the University of Ghana and all in the academic community must begin to feel the change and within my first 100 days, if you want us to do an evaluation of my tenure we can always to that.
“There’s no honeymoon, the race has started and there is new wind blowing so everyone in the University must begin to feel it. My feet are always on the accelerated and I’m ready to give account of the first 100 days in office” Professor Owusu Oduro said.
His comments come on the hills of what students expect the Vice Chancellor to be implemented within his 100 days in office.
Professor Oduro Owusu was speaking in his first media interview on Radio Univers today August 30, 2016 since assuming office as the Chief Executive Officer of the Nation’s premier University.
Professor Ebenezer Oduro Owusu was sworn into office taking over from Professor Ernest Aryeetey on August 1, 2016. Prior to his appointment as Vice chancellor Professor Oduro Owusu was the Provost of the college of Basic and Applied Sciences and a Professor in entomology.
In his induction address, Professor Oduro Owusu shared five pillars underpinning his vision to making the University a world class citadel of excellence.
These include making the University relevant to national developmental needs and beating competition through world class effective virtual capacity as well as enforcing discipline, integrity, transparency and accountability at all levels within the University of Ghana community. He also proposed strategies to address challenges of funding the University’s physical development and research.
