Agricultural College Students’ Union To Demonstrate If…. – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The Public Relations Officer of the Agricultural College Students’ Union(ACSU) , Mr. Amaning Nathan Ampaw  expressed his disappointment at government’s decision to scrap of their allowances.

Speaking to Univers News, Mr. Ampaw indicated that this call comes on the back of fruitless efforts by representatives of the various colleges to demand the restoration of their allowances .

“We are pleading with Government should respond to the union as quickly as possible “, he said.

The National Public Relations Officer further asserted that if their allowances are not restored in due time , the union will go on a peaceful demonstration.

“Unlike nursing and teacher trainees who are posted after training , students from the college of agriculture are to search for their own job. The courses that we read are practical so when you complete you have to go outside and create your own job and go to the extent of employing people. So we need the money so that we can use it to establish the business”, he added.

The Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA) subsidizes education in the college to make the learning and practice of Agriculture attractive to the youth.
