Alexander Adum Kwapong Basketball team coach Ibrahim Mukthar says the International Student Hostel encounter was like a warm up session.
Last year’s semi- finalist defeated the international hostel students by 30 baskets to 13 on match day 3 of the University Of Ghana Basketball league
There was little to choose between the two sides before the 3rd quarter as only five points were racked up in the 1st quarter. The ISH team was completely bamboozled when Fathiu Gibril, Kwapong point guard was introduced into the game. Gibril ensured his team increased their lead to 17 points to seal victory for the Kwaponites.
Ibrahim Mukthar, who led his team to a historic semifinal last season, feels the game was quite easy although his team didn’t start well.
“During the first and second quarter my point guard wasn’t available but yet still my players were able to play and lead in both quarters. I thank God my point guard came on time and he was able to change the game for me drastically to win. I didn’t see this game to be competitive. I knew I was going to win and I see it as a normal game. I see this game to be a warm up game towards my competitive games”, he said.
