The hopes of two JCR aspirants of Legon Hall have been dashed by the hall’s Electoral Commission after putting up a shambolic performance at the vetting last night.
The duo, Eric Donald Danso and Samuel Quaye, were vying for the Organising Secretary portfolio.
Their disqualification was not surprising to many who witnessed proceedings as they failed to put up good performance not to even talk about their own CV (curriculum vitae).
Some had their names spelt wrongly on their CV whiles others displayed total ignorance of the position they are aspiring to hold.
Majority of the aspirants also failed to impress the vetting panel with their programs and policies.
Per the constitutional Instrument for the JCR elections (C.I 17) any candidate running for any JCR office as a sole candidate shall be required to meet, during the vetting process, at least 60% pass mark.
Whereas, any candidate contesting against any candidate for the same office shall have to meet 50% of the pass mark.
With the exception of aspirants for the Organizing Secretary slot; all others have been validated to canvass for votes ahead of the elections on Friday November 18, 2016.
Meanwhile the Electoral Commission has re-opened nominations for the Organizing Secretary position till midnight Sunday November 13, 2016.
Univers news is learning that one of the embattled aspirant, Samuel Quaye has retaken a nomination form to prove the vetting committee wrong for failing him the first time.

SECRETARY
Jocelyn Mensah (57.1%)
Ofosuhemaa Agyemang (65.9%)
TREASURER
Angelina Nanege (67%)
Cecil Thompson (50.6%)
SPORTS SECRETARY
Emmanuel Nii Ayitey-Adjin (63.40%)
ORGANIZING SECRETARY
Eric Donald Danso (44.37%)
Samuel Quaye (46.30%)
The aspirants are expected to go through another nerve-racking encounter on Radio Univers (Wednesday November 16) as their policies and programs are peruse to the better understanding of their constituents.
