The old order has changed and given place to new with Mr. Haward Avornyo elected as JCR President of the Mensah Sarbah Hall at the University of Ghana.
Mr. Avornyo who stood unopposed pulled 765 valid votes to emerge President of the Vikings for the 2016/2017 academic year.
Speaking to Univers news on the heels of his success, the president-elect promised his constituents a leadership that will make their welfare paramount in his administration.
The newly elected President has served in the previous administration as Welfare Secretary for which reason he believes gives him some leverage to serve his colleagues better in the ensuing year.
Mr. Howard Avornyo vowed to reduce the apathy in the members of the hall as well as seal the loopholes his predecessors have left behind. He also thanked the Vikings for reposing confidence in him and his other executives elected to serve them for the 2016/2017 academic year.
Other Junior Common Room (JCR) executives elected for the 2016/2017 academic year include Lybeth King as Vice President, Lily Attram as General Secretary and with Kingsley Adu Otchere as Financial Secretary.
Samuel Wenya also beat his contender to take the Financial Secretary position for the hall.
