Two UDS Students Perish In Fatal Motor Accident – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Two students of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Navrongo campus have met their untimely death after they were knocked down from their motorbike by a bus on the Tamale-Salaga road.

The two, on their third-trimester field practicals were Abdul Raphic and Awudu Alhassan.

Abdul Raphic was the immediate past Student Representative Council (SRC) Judiciary  Committee Board Chairman (2014 /2015 students Parliament speaker) and his colleague Awudu Alhassan the immediate past Students Parliament Speaker.

Univers news gathers that the two who were stationed at Kabache, a  farming community in the East Gonja district died on the spot.

Some friends confirmed that the two had gone to Salaga to collect data for their project work.

Eye witnesses say the driver of the bus sped off after knocking the two down, leaving the deceased to helplessly to their fate.

Assembly member for the area, Abdul Mumuni Ewurtomah said an old man returning from a nearby community saw them lying motionless and quickly reported the incident to the people of Kabache who rushed to the scene and realized they were dead.

Some residents who visited the scene suspected it  the Metro mass bus driver, saying it was the only bus that passed  by the community before  the incident was reported.

According to them, traces of blood were found at the front side of the driver’s tyre, upon arrival at the metro mass station in Salaga.

The East Gonja district police command has commenced investigations into the matter.

Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
