The Indian President, HE Pranab Mukherjee will on Sunday pay a working visit to Ghana as part of his three-nation African tour.
He is visiting on the invitation of the President of Ghana, Mr. John Dramani Mahama, and will be accompanied by a Minister of State, four Members of the Parliament, senior officials, business and a media delegation.
The tour will also see him visit Ivory Coast and Namibia.
HE Pranab Mukherjee will be hosted by the President of Ghana, John Mahama on his arrival Sunday evening. He will hold discussions with the Mahama after which a number of agreements will be signed.
He is also expected to visit the University of Ghana, where he will deliver a guest lecture.
As part of his itinerary, he will address a business forum at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT.
He will also unveil a statue of Mahatma Gandhi gifted by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations
HE Pranab Mukherjee will also visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and plant a tree at the Flagstaff House to signify the strong bond of friendship between India and Ghana before departing on Ivory Coast on Tuesday, 14th June.
India’s cumulative investments in Ghana till date have exceeded USD 1 billion and bilateral trade crossed USD 3 billion mark in 2015- 2016.
