Three students have been caught by the University Of Ghana security for smoking a substance alleged to be Indian hemp at the United Nations Hall popularly known as Evandy Hostel, the students were caught at the forecourt of the hostel at 10:45 this morning after being chased by a group of porters who were given information by some students who saw them engaging in the act.
The suspects whose names are yet to be identified were later picked up by the University Of Ghana security after a report was made to them by the hall management.
Speaking to Univers news the Manager of the Hall Mr. Francis Tagoe stated that investigation processes are currently underway and appropriate sanctions will be meted out to these students as their actions go contrary to the hall regulations.
We have declared this place as a no smoking zone. If you do it and we get hold of you, you will be in trouble. We will also withdraw you from the hostel and report you to the dean of students. We have the social responsibility to ensure that students do not go into it so we will sanction you once we get hold of you.
