We Will Make The University Of Ghana A ‘Go To University’- Legon VC – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The University of Ghana has today (November 3, 2016) inaugurated eight out of nine Strategic Teams to re-position the University as a citadel of excellence in Africa and beyond.

The strategic teams have been mandated with the responsibility of initiating innovative measures that will advance the university’s progressive match towards the achievement of greater recognition within the global academic community as well as ensure high academic and research standards which will contribute to national and world development.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chancellor Professor Ebenezer Oduro-Owusu reiterated his commitment in making the nation’s premier university in what he terms as a �?Go To University’ and also make it relevant to the developmental needs of Ghana and beyond.

Professor Oduro- Owusu further said there is the need for the University to redouble its effort to diversify funding sources and ensure that the University seek continuous improvement in Africa and World-wide rankings.

“In this era where universities all over the world are searching for new approaches to remain unique in the things they do, it has become very clear that, the University of Ghana among other things needs to redouble our efforts to diversify funding sources and increase internally generated funds.” Prof. Oduro-Owusu indicated.

The day was also used to commission two tractors and 7 slashers all in a bid in greening the entire campus of the University of Ghana.  Five of the slashers were donated by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the rest was acquired by the University management.
