UG Distance Education Students Not To Pay Academic Fees Till Further Notice – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The SRC President for the Distance Education (DE) unit at the University of Ghana, Richard Kwasi Anim has cautioned students of the unit to withhold  payment of their academic user fees until further notice.

This directive was at the backdrop of some students of the satellite campus of the University of Ghana paying their academic user fees into an account that has been changed.

Initially, payment was made to Ecobank and Standard Chartered banks but for the 2016/2017 academic year, students were asked to make payments at the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), which according to management of the School of  Continuing and Distance Education was meant to make funds more accessible.

But speaking on Campus Exclusive this morning, Mr. Anim said the change in account has instead made it difficult for students of the unit to make payment.

He further asked constituent not to make payment via cash deposit or pay into the account bearing the name ‘The College of Education DE Fee Collection.’

In effect, “students who are yet to pay should hold on.”

The DE SRC president however assured those who already made payment into the wrong account not to panic and that once the problem is resolved, they will be informed to transfer their fees from the former banks (Ecobank and Standard  Chartered Bank) into the Ghana Commercial Bank using their student index number and name.
