Residential Registration Rumour Squashed – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The Acting head of the Academic affairs committee of the Student Representative Council Mr. Neeyi Afful has debunked claims that residential registration will be opened to freshmen on the 7TH of September.

The residential registration was scheduled to start on Monday the 5th of September but was postponed. According to him the delay is due to the fact that a section of students who gained admission did not have their names on the list and also some rooms have not been entered into the system. Speaking on campus exclusive on Tuesday, Mr. Afful assures freshmen that as soon as the challenges have been resolved, they will receive messages from the university of Ghana computing systems.

“As at yesterday there were some rooms that didn’t have their details at the UGCS, the were also some other people who gain admission but didn’t have their name on the list so it would be unfair if they released it and these people will be underprivileged, so that is how come it wasn’t opened. They are hoping that from yesterday to today [Tuesday] they will be able to sort things out so that tomorrow morning everything will be set for them to register.’ he said.

He further stated the Students Representative Council is issuing a communique  with their contacts to enable students that still have problems in registering after it is opened  to get accommodation in the private hostels on campus for the first year

“Where ever you are encountering those challenges, all our lines will go to the UGCS and then if there are some rooms available, we’ll help you out. If there are still some rooms in Banni, Evandy, TF we would arrange with management to make sure at least they will have a place to stay for the one year…” he added.
