“Football Was An Accident, I Wanted To Be a Journalist”-Black Stars Player Alfred Duncan – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Ghana’s midfielder Alfred Duncan has disclosed in an interview on BBC sports’ world football program on Friday September 16th about his desire to become a journalist when he was growing up in Ghana, but not a professional footballer as it stands now.

“For me growing up in Ghana, I always wanted to become and journalist but at age 15, I had to come to Italy by myself through an uncle and upon my arrival, I was adopted by an Italian family but I wanted to go to school, but the family later asked me to go for a trial at Internalzionale because I used to play whiles in Ghana” Alfred Duncan to the BBC

“I went to for the trials and fortunately for me, I was drafted to join Inter-Milan youth academy on the 19th of March, 2009 after one week of trails”—–He added
The Black Stars player was signed by US Sassuolo from fellow Serie A side Sampdoria during the 2016 summer transfer window.

The left footed central midfielder told the BBC about how proud they (the players of Sassuolo) want to make the city and the owner of the club proud in the 2016/17 Uefa Europa League.

“The club has been in progress for the last ten years and it’s something very big for us because our president wants us to play in the champions league and its a challenge also to us because the club is coming from a small city”—– Duncan said.

Duncan was part of the 2013 Black Satellite’s team that played in the FIFA U-20 world cup in Turkey and featured four times for the former world youth champions and also featured nine times for the senior national team, the Black Stars of Ghana.
