Coach at the University of Ghana Sports Directorate, Henry Nii Sackey has opened up on the reasons for the delay in the medical screening of sports men and women on campus.
As an initiative by the Sports Directorate of the University, sports men and women on campus have to undergo a series of medicals ahead of the sporting calendar.
Coach Henry Nii Sackey said a date was fixed but had to make do with a change due to constraints at the University hospital. He also pointed out to low turn-outs of sports men and women for the exercise as another factor.
“Well will need clearance from the hospital to come and do the screening. We were there the medical director made us aware that his staff were engaged outside the country and others were on leave. We fix dates but because of the constraints at the hospital we had to conform to a date that was suitable to the hospital management. Unfortunately from the start most of the students did not turn-up, you would be surprise to hear that on day one and two we couldn’t record even a number of twenty students.”
