The East Legon District in the Madina Area of The Church of Pentecost has constructed a multipurpose classroom block worth GHC. 161,120.16 for the University Of Ghana Basic School in Accra.
The move to construct the block, which houses two offices, storerooms, a kitchen and five washrooms, was in fulfillment of the Area’s promise to support the construction of the facility following a request made by the institution through its Kindergarten Department.
Speaking on the topic: “Can Two People Walk Together Unless They Agree?” to mark the momentous occasion, the Madina Area Head, Apostle Anthony K. Ahalivor, called on all and sundry to strive to maintain peace and unity in the country.
Using Amos 3:1-3 as his main Scripture reference, the Madina Area Head said that Abraham and Noah were able to serve the Lord faithfully in their generation because they both agreed and made up their mind to walk with the Lord till the end. As a result of this they always obeyed the instructions of God to the latter and in return they gained the Lord’s favor.
He said that God is still looking out for people in this generation who will be prepared to listen, obey and follow Him throughout their life’s journey.
He also took the opportunity to advise marriage couples, churches, politicians, and other religious institutions, as well as all gathered to strive to live peacefully with others, especially as the nation prepares to go to the polls come November.
He emphasized that in order for two people to be able to walk together peacefully there is the need for both parties to be united as one. This means that they must be prepared to respect and understand each other irrespective of their sex, background, ideologies, views and their differences.
“If two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers, so if the nation is plunged into chaos, the children, members, organizations, subordinates will be those who will suffer the most. We must therefore agree to disagree and disagree to agree” he advised.
Concluding his message, Apostle Ahalivor said that the work of salvation began with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by faith however, for their descendants; it is by believing in Jesus Christ. “God expects all His chosen people to hear and obey all His teachings accordingly,” he added.
The Kindergarten School Block project was first initiated on 18th February, 2014 after the Apostle Anthony Ahalivor, with assistance from the the then East Legon District Minister, Pastor Agyemang Badu, cut the sod for works to commence on the project.
Subsequently, the Church together with the leadership of the School and the Parents Teacher Association (PTA), worked tirelessly to ensure the completion of the project to the glory of God.
Apostle Anthony Ahalivor assured the authorities of the school that the Church would continue to provide social services and support to the institution so that they would be equipped to serve the Madina community and its environs.
The leadership of school was grateful to Apostle Anthony Ahalivor, Pastor Maxwell Aduborfour Asiedu (current East Legon District Minister), Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko (Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso Wuogon Constituency) and officers of the Area who ensured the success of the project.
Among those present at the event were: Mrs. Mercy Haizel Ashia, (Registrar, University of Ghana, Legon), Mrs. Doris Aboagye Amponsah (Headmistress, University of Ghana Basic School) as well as the ministers and wives in the Area.
