University of Ghana ‘Bush Canteen’ Closed Down – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The University of Ghana staff market popularly called  the bush canteen situated behind the University of Ghana fire service station has been closed down temporally for a dis-infestation  exercise.

According to a public notice signed by Ernest Boakye, the deputy director of the Environmental Health Unit of the Physical Development and Municipal Service Directorate (PDMSD),  The market will be closed down on Friday July 1st,2016 at 9:00pm and reopened on Wednesday July 6th,2016 at 6:00am.

Operators of the market have therefore been advised to evacuate all food stuff and items  by 9:00pm on Friday July 1.

Sellers and food vendors have also been told to make sure that their shops are opened for the PDMSD Officials for the fumigation exercise by 6:00am on Saturday July 2nd,2016.

The University of Ghana staff market is the biggest trading center at the University of Ghana campus. The market aside it being noted for the selling and buying of food, also has mini supermarkets, dressmaking shops, Salons and drinking spots.
