A bust has been erected at the forecourt of the Great hall inside the University of Ghana in honor of the out-going Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Ernest Aryeetey.
Prof. Ernest Arteetey was immortalized at the University of Ghana during a send-off ceremony which saw the Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood, past Vice-Chancellors, some lecturers and other invited guests in attendance.
Prof. Ernest Aryeetey will be succeeded by Pro-Vost of the college of basic and applied sciences Prof. Ebenezer Oduro Owusu.
Professor Ernest Aryeetey has served as vice-chancellor of the University of Ghana for the past 6 years.
He has subsequently been appointed as part of a 12-member governing council of the United Nations University (UNU) in Japan.
Professor Ernest Aryeetey in his tenure commissioned numerous projects such as the new University Entrance, roads, pavements, a new Banking Hall square, new Lecture blocks, Staff Canteen, a kindergarten block for Staff Village school, and a refurbished the University book shop.
