Bece Results To Be Released September 13 – Rev Bettey – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Public Relations officer of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Rev Jonathan Bettey confirmed to Univers News that the results of the candidates who sat for the 2016 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will be released on the 13th of September, 2016. He said students from deprived basic schools will now have equal opportunity just as their counterpart in well –endowed schools to gain admission to what has been known as first class senior high schools. Rev. Bettey however expressed worry over the admission of students on protocol list into the senior high schools.

“This practice on admitting students on protocol list has made admission over the years very appalling and denied a large number of them into second cycle schools”.

According to him the GES has put down some measures to ensure a free to ensure a free and fair admission.

“The minister of Education together with the director general of the GES will hold on to the enrollment lists given by various heads of schools”, he further disclosed.

Rev. Bettey revealed that sanctions will be meted out to school authorities who flout the regulation. This year saw a total of 461,013 candidates from 14,267public and private junior high schools write the exams that was conducted by the West African Examination Council [WAEC] between June 13 and 17, 2016.
They were made up of 239,963 males and 221,050 females as well as 57 visually impaired.
