Education Ministry To Curb BECE Leakages With New Software – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Public relations officer of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Francis Gbadago has disclosed that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) has adopted  a new software known as the Item Differential Profile (IDP) to help curb the outfit’s recurrent problem of leakages of its examination questions.

According to him, the software will ensure that the integrity of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) scheduled to begin on the 13th June 2016 is safeguarded.

Speaking on Campus Exclusive, he assured the public that this software would be effective to curb exams leakages.

‘’Candidates and the public are to be mindful of the new software that the West African Examination council has developed known as the  Item Differential Profile (IDP), which has been developed to ensure that any particular supervisor or candidate that wants to collude the conduct of the examinations, that particular person will be exposed’’

Mr. Francis Gbadago however refused to explain in detail how the software operates for security reasons, adding that some groups of people might be able to devise means of hacking the software.

He further warned that no leniency will be shown when culprits are caught as they will be made to face the full rigours of the law.

“We are warning each and every candidate to ensure that they adhere strictly to the rules and regulations anything short of that, this particular software is capable of identifying you and your results will be in jeopardy”

The BECE has been scheduled for June 13-17, 2016
