Hon. Nii Larye Afotey Agbo has said that university graduates should be made to serve in the military for at least 6-months as part of their National Service.
According to him, military training will imbibe in service persons virtues such as discipline. A virtue he believes is next to absent in Ghana. As a result, there is widespread, shamelessly overt corruption at all levels.
Therefore, if every service personnel receives a minimum of 6-months military training, it won’t be long before Ghana will be almost corruption-free. This Hon. Agbo believes will go a long way to purge the nation of corruption and other social vices.
The Greater Accra regional minister therefore hinted his intentions to advocate for the institution of such a system.
He was speaking at the 31st annual Greater Accra Regional Students’ Representative Council (GARSRC) congress on Tues, Aug 23 2016.
