Parliament Throws Out Impeachment Call – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Edward Doe Adjaho has dismissed the motion filed by the minority caucus which called for investigations into the circumstances surrounding the receipt of the Ford Expedition gift by President John Mahama.

Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho directed the Minority members of the house to pursue the case at the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice.

The speaker whiles addressing the house opined that constitutional tenets demanded the referral of issues of such merit to CHRAJ.

The speaker consequently directed the Clerk to Parliament to return the motion to the honourable member who filed it.

The Speaker noted thus;

“I hereby direct the clerk to return the motion to the member in whose name it stands in line with standing order 79 (4)”

Parliament was called for an emergency meeting in Pursuance of Article 112(3) of the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and order 38(1) Of The Standing Orders to commence deliberations over the circumstances undergirding the receipt of the Ford gift from the Burkinabe contractor, Djibril Kanazoe, which reportedly led to the awarding of the contract to construct the Dodo Pepeso-Nkwanta road.
