Coach of the Akuafo Hall female basketball team, Praise Dzogbewu has revealed that her primary goal in the University of Ghana inter-hall basketball league is getting her girls selected into the school’s female basketball team.
Praise explained that, the Akuafo hall female basketball team recruited players who were new to basketball and ignorant of the rules of the game. The newcomers only had a week to train before engaging in their first ever competitive basketball game against the Royals of Jean Nelson Aka Hall. After a 4-quarter clash against Jean Nelson the farmers emerged winners by thrashing the Royals by 23 to 13 baskets on Monday.
Last year’s inter-hall female league saw the Farmers come in third position having won 5 games and lost 2 with a total of 12 points. The team is set to test might with back-to-back champions Volta hall in their next game and are looking forward to training harder as the defending champions’ team is made up of players from the University of Ghana Basketball team.
