Be Bold To Report Up Criminals To The Police – IGP – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. John Kudalor, has renewed the call to the people to flag up criminals to the police to help keep the society safe.

They should provide credible information for the arrest and prosecution of those who had chosen to live outside the law.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the Atwima-Kwanwoma District Police Headquarters at Foase as part of his two-day official tour of the Ashanti Region.

It has offices for the District Commander and the Station Officer, male and female cells, a charge office, exhibit and orderly rooms as well as washrooms.

Added to this, is a residential accommodation for the Commander.

The project was jointly funded by the district assembly, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area and the chief of the town.

Mr. Kudalor reminded officers posted to the place to uphold high standards of professionalism to win the confidence of the people.

They should work hard with passion and commitment to substantially reduce crime in the district.
The IGP who was in the region to assess the operational challenges the police faced and how to deal with these to promote efficiency, advised all to conduct themselves well to make this year’s election peaceful.

He asked that they refused to go with anything likely to fuel unnecessary tension and snowball into nasty clashes.
Nana Adu Mensah Asare, Amakomhene, who represented the Asantehene, at the ceremony said there could be no doubt that the strong presence of the police would discourage acts of lawlessness.

He called for the people to cooperate with the officers to flush out criminals to enable everybody to have their peace.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye, the Regional Commander, encouraged the formation of neighbourhood watch committees to complement the police crime fight.
