USAG Presidential Hopeful Under Fire Over Academic Records – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The University Students Association of Ghana has accused its presidential hopeful Mr. Malik Basintali of refusing to hand over his official academic records to the association’s vetting committee, an official memo which was released by the association.

Mr. Malik Basintali reported otherwise stating that, according to him; he has honoured the requirement of presenting his transcript made to the vetting committee after the abrupt end of the USAG congress last month.  He further claimed that, he handed over his transcript to the committee within the stipulated two weeks period.

Speaking to Univers news, Mr. Basintali revealed that he presented the document to a member of the vetting committee and was assured of review by the committee adding that he has attained a grade point.

“I was surprised when I saw the release on social media so the first person I called was Angel Komla the person who I submitted my transcript to who is a member of the vetting committee because I live close to him in Tema. He told me he had even transferred my forms to one of the vetting committee members and that they had called for a meeting to review all the transcripts of other the aspirants, because the decision that was taken by the committee at Kesben University was not read by the chairman of the vetting committee”, he said.

He further stated that, “If they want to use to use the 3.0 criteria, I have submitted my transcript and my GPA is 3.02 if the committee now wants to use another base to set me aside”.
