Fragile: Commonwealth Basketball Captain Blames defeat on “Game Tension” – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

Captain of the Commonwealth Basketball team, Maxwell Mensah has attributed that their Elizabeth Frances Sey defeat to loss of focus.

Commonwealth lost by 15-14 after Kojo Atefah, a shooter on from the Elizabeth Sey team disoriented the team after latching onto a pass in the dying embers of the fourth quarter to make a three-pointer shot.

Maxwell is adamant his team will bounce back in the subsequent games.

“It’s something we call Game tension. Anyone who has engaged in a sporting activity will attest to that. Sometimes you will be in a game and there will be some people standing outside calling out your name. Sometimes it all amounts to losing focus on the game.With the game today it was very slippery even though we tried to play our hearts out. Since it’s our first game we can’t say a lot about it but looking at the game I think it’s better compared to our games in previous semesters.Today I felt we played our hearts out even though we lost. We can do better in our subsequent games. I believe we can do extremely better than today”.

Commonwealth Hall will battle out with city campus on match day two of the 2016/2017 University Of Ghana basketball league.
