UG SRC Mourns Death of Former UDS Student Leaders – Radio Univers 105.7 | Voice of Legon

The Students Representative Council of the University of Ghana SRC has expressed its condolences to the student body of the University of Development Students following the tragic death of two of their former student leaders.

The two, Abdul Raphic and Awudu Alhassan met their untimely death when they were knocked down by a speeding bus while on a motorbike on the Tamale-Salaga road.

According to a statement signed the SRC President, Afi Esinam Seade, the death of the two struck the SRC administration with intense grief and hence “we wish to express our condolences to the bereaved families, affected friends, loved ones and the entire University of Development Studies (UDS) Community.”

Describing the two as stalwarts on the students front, she encouraged all students across the country to conduct themselves in the safest ways possible especially in the rainy season.

“It is our prayer that the Almighty shall jealously shield us all until the dawn of the next academic year,” she added.

The deceased, Abdul Raphic was the immediate past Student Representative Council (SRC) Judiciary  Committee Board Chairman (2014 /2015 students Parliament speaker) and his colleague Awudu Alhassan, the immediate past Students Parliament Speaker.

The bodies have been deposited at the Tamale Teachis Hospital mortuary for autopsy, as police commence investigations into the incident.
